Woodbury Kennels Ltd charges are for every day or part day, if you drop off on Friday and pick up Sunday you will be charged for three days irrespective of the times dropped off or collected.  If for any reason you need to reduce your dog/s stay or cancel the booking with less than 48 hours’ notice of drop off, you will be charged for the original dates booked as it is highly likely that we have declined other bookings to accommodate your dog/s.

All Christmas and New Year bookings require a 10% nonrefundable/nontransferable deposit, and the balance is to be paid in full by the 15th December.  Failure to do so will result in your booking not being confirmed and potentially being allocated to members on our waitlist.  Our minimum booking period between the 18th of December and the 18th of January is 8 days chargeable.

Should you decide to pick your dog up earlier than stated/booked you understand no refund or transfer will be given during the festive season. All dogs staying at Woodbury Kennels Limited must be fully vaccinated and up to date for Parvo Virus, Distemper, Hepatitis (Vanguard 5) every 2 years, (Vanguard plus every 3 years) and both Lepto and Canine Cough annually, and not more recently than 7 days.  You acknowledge & agree that during your dog/s stay here, there is a risk & possibility of your dog/s acquiring canine/kennel cough. There are 17 known strains of Kennel cough, which the vaccine will only cover 15.  Kennel cough occurs in even the most hygienic & well-ventilated kennels and can be acquired from a neighbour’s dog, dog parks, doggy daycare, groomers etc. It can even be acquired while at the vets. A kennel cough vaccination does not cover every strain of kennel cough. We accept no liability for your dog acquiring kennel cough during his/her stay here and if veterinary care is required, you will be liable for the full amount.  We also recommend that your dog/s are up to date with worm and flea treatment. If we feel that flea or worming is needed during your dog/s stay, we will administer this treatment and any costs incurred will be passed onto the owner. Please also note, that we are a former deer and beef farm, and continue to run small amounts of stock.  Due to this we continue to occasionally have ticks in our pasture.  We aim to manage our pasture to minimise exposure to ticks but suggest that if you intend your dog with us that you choose a flea treatment that also protects against ticks.  Proof of vaccination must be loaded into our system when creating an account.  Our system is programmed to email you a reminder annually to update your vaccines when these are due. Failure to provide a valid vaccination card for each dog staying gives Woodbury Kennels Limited the right to refuse boarding.

If a dog/s are not collected within 72 hours more than the agreed date of collection, without contact from the owner or representative they will be classed as abandoned.  We the right to contact our local authority to discuss collection or re-homing.

It is up to you, the dog owner to ensure that all the information we have for you and your dog/s are up to date and that a secondary contact person and an emergency’s details (that can be contacted if needed, while you are away) have been put on your Booking Application.

We are fully committed to meeting the requirements under the animal Welfare Act 1999.

The dogs in our care are checked multiple times daily and we have video surveillance in the main kennel block.

We do not allow dogs from different households to share kennels.

Should we decide at our discretion that Veterinary advice or treatment is necessary, you authorise Woodbury Kennels Limited to obtain such advice and/or treatment from a Veterinary of our choice.  You as the dog’s owner are liable for Vet fees incurred, plus a $50-00 time/transport cost per visit to the Vet. We have an area for isolating sick or injured dogs should this be required.

Dogs are exercised appropriately according to their individual needs in any of our outside areas during their stay.

Woodbury Kennels Limited has a huge number of raised beds and bedding.  Should you wish to bring your own, it is at your own risk and Woodbury Kennels Limited accepts no responsibility for damage or loss to bedding, collars or other belongings.

Photographs may be taken of your dog/s while boarding at Woodbury Kennels Limited. These images are the property of Woodbury Kennels Limited and may be used for advertising, social media or on our website.

If we consider a dog’s barking to be excessive, we will ring the owner or representative to come and collect as this can affect the rest of our dogs, neighbouring properties and our resource consent obligations.

If we consider a dog to be dangerous or aggressive, we may isolate and/or ring the owner or emergency contact to come and collect immediately as we have a duty to all the dogs in our care and our staff to keep them safe under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015.

During the period of boarding, Woodbury Kennels Limited will exercise every possible care and attention to the welfare and safety of all dogs in our care. However, the owner must understand and accept the risks involved with dogs in an open play environment (for example: minor injuries and common dog ailments) and will not hold Woodbury Kennels Limited liable for damages, loss and costs outside of their control.

For the safety and welfare of all animals and staff, by agreeing to our Terms and Conditions you give permission to Woodbury Kennels Limited to utilise appropriate management tools where reasonably necessary at our discretion. This may include, but is not limited to, the use of muzzles, head collars, and separation enclosures.  If a situation was to evolve, we would aim where and when practical to discuss our concerns with the dog’s owner.  Should a dog require an anti-barking device for future boarding while in our care, then it is up to the owner to provide this for any future bookings.  Any such equipment will be used in a humane and proportionate manner, and only where deemed necessary for the safety, wellbeing or management of the dog, other animals, or staff. Nothing in this clause permits the use of equipment or practices prohibited under the Animal Welfare Act 1999. All management practices are conducted in accordance with applicable animal welfare legislation.

Clients acknowledge that boarding environments differ from home environments and that temporary management tools may be required for safety, stress reduction, containment or compliance with noise regulations.
