Frequently asked questions.

Most FAQ are clearly outlined in our terms and conditions, however, feel free to browse through the following:

  • Yes, all dogs require that they are fully vaccinated with Vanguard, Vanguard plus, Leptoguard and kennel cough at least 7 days prior to visiting our kennels.

  • Sadly no. Our kennels run well due to the routines we have refined and implemented over time. It is disruptive when dogs come and go for the remaining dogs in our care. Hence we try to keep these disruptions to a minimum and maintain appointment drop off/pick ups only. We are also obliged to abide with Council regulations. Failure to do so could affect our resource consent.

  • We charge by day or part there off. We choose to run our kennels with smaller numbers than many other large commercial operations. This enables us to provide good one-on-one care to the dogs that are with us, and offer modern, clean and engaging facilities to minimise stress levels and enable your K9 companion to have the best possible time during its stay. So, to clarify if you chose to drop your dog at 5pm on Monday and collected at 10am on Wednesday - this will incur a 3 day charge.

  • Yes, we are happy to administer and manage basic medical treatments and requirements, at no extra charge.

  • No. Simply because you chose to have multiple dogs or chose to extend your holiday, yet we do not compromise our care, feed quality or quantity - so then, why should we compromise our income? When we can easily fill this spot with full paying clients. Hence it is one set daily fee per dog/per day.

  • No not at this stage.

  • Please view our facilities page for photo's of our suites. These are generous in size and allocated to each dog for the duration of its stay. These are utilised while eating, afternoon quiet time and overnighting.

  • Sadly, we no longer accommodate this. Bringing outsiders into our facilities is often extremely stressful for some of our more anxious dogs and creates disruptions and raised anxiety to the dogs already in our care. We try to provide a relaxed and harmonious operation and have therefore stopped facilitating visits mainly for this reason. We also have to consider and follow clear Health and Safety guidelines.

  • The short answer again, is no. We are a boarding facility, and our number 1 priority is that your dog is safe and secure, secondly - fed well, and happy. It is essential that your dog is well socialised before arrival so that it can engage in our pack runs over the farm and enjoy playtime with our other boarders. Should you wish for training, then we work and refer collaboratively with Nadia Sullivan at Professional Dog Training.

  • You are welcome to bring any bedding or food that aids your dogs dietary requirements (please ensure that everything is named). However, this is not essential as we do have a huge range of bedding etc available.

  • Yes, we are a small family run business and do limit our numbers. Hence we do often have limited availability. Additionally over the past 2 years 7 kennel facilities have closed down in the Auckland area. Many kennels no longer accommodate a range of large breed dogs - this has added more demand and pressure on the existing kennels still operating often demand exceeds availability - hence it is wise to book in advance.

  • We have a very good relationship with all the veterinary facilities in our area. Should your dog show any signs of discomfort we endeavour to do our utmost to ensure his or her welfare. You as the owner are always our very first point of contact and we endeavour to always obtain veterinary advice in consultation with you as the owner. In the event that you are beyond contact, we will make the judgement call and seek veterinary advice and notify your emergency contact.
